How the CE+ Certification Process Works at Zeta Force
Technical Assessment Begins
- Zeta Force performs the Cyber Essentials Plus technical audit—either remotely or on-site, based on your requirements.
Initial Outcome
- If your systems meet all CE+ requirements, you’ll be awarded the Cyber Essentials Plus Certificate.
- If there are areas that do not meet the criteria, you’ll receive a remediation report outlining what needs to be fixed.
Remediation Window (Up to 30 Days)
You will have up to 30 days (as per NCSC guidelines) to address any failed elements.
Re-Test of Failed Items
- Zeta Force conducts one remote re-test of the previously failed items after your fixes are complete.
Final Certification Decision
- If all items pass in the re-test, your CE+ certification is issued.
- If the re-test still fails, further remediation will be needed, and the certification process restarts.

What Does CE+ with Zeta Force Involve?
- In-Depth Testing CE+ covers all the controls from the basic Cyber Essentials scheme, with additional external vulnerability scans, internal assessments, and either on-site or remote technical audits.
- Technical Audit Scope
Zeta Force auditors will assess:
- A representative sample of user devices
- All internet gateways
- All servers and systems accessible to unauthenticated internet users
- Virtual desktop environments, if applicable
- Sampling Methodology Around 10% of systems will be randomly tested. Based on the results, our assessor will determine whether additional testing is necessary.
- Audit Timing Requirement You must complete your CE+ audit within 3 months of achieving your basic Cyber Essentials certification.

If you haven’t done Cyber Essentials yet, you can begin your CE+ journey by completing the Self-Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ)—the first step of the CE+ certification process.
